Plate Arms, “Kastenbrust”

Similar design foundations are found to be used all across medieval Europe; from Belgium, France, England and down to the Italian peninsula, but this design is associated most notably with the beautiful, German gothic armor - “Kastenbrust”.
The aggressively fluted fan-plates add beauty and function to the unique design of the “Kastenbrust” plate arms, by acting in a similar fashion to a stop-rib or rolled edge, and helping to stop, slow down, or divert certain attacks, as well as adding to structural integrity.
