     Buhurt Tech’s line-up of professional quality Buhurt toys continues to expand with our newest edition; the massive “Flamberg” greatsword. Known by various monikers such as, ‘spadone, montante and zweihänder’ - the flame-bladed great-sword needs no introduction; a person only needs to see it, to realize its power and utility!
As with many typical zweihänders, BT’s "Flamberg" sports a pair of ‘parierhaken’ (parry hooks) about 1/3rd of the way up the blade. Aptly named, these non-sharpened hooks function as a secondary handguard above the unsharpened ‘ricasso’ of the blade for use in various ‘half sword’ techniques, which also include attacks, not just defense - and although most Armored Combat Leagues don’t allow half-swording, stay-tuned as the sport grows and more opportunities become available!
Although the ‘Flamberg’ zweihänder is a massive weapon, it is deceptively light (compared to weapons of similar size) and well-balanced; meant for dealing with large crowds and even larger weapons such as pikes and poleaxes.
