Spear, “Dragonslayer”
 
     Sometimes, simplicity is all that is needed to slay a dragon. No spells or magic potions - just a good ol’ spear. Forged steel and a good length of treated wood, hand-wrapped, glued and taped - that’ll do the job - beautiful in simplicity and devastating in functional utility.

Use the long shaft and keep the metal part between you and your dragon.
Don’t let the dragon get close to you where it can use its claws and savage breath weapon (ugh, gross!).
Repeatedly pummel the dragon. When it curses at you and charges - laugh and swing harder, or side-step, and use the spear-length to trip the beast.
Works on both long and short hafts, although it’s especially fun at the default length!
